Your
Coaching
Range
and
Deepen
the
Client
Experience
Incorporate
the
body's
wisdom
into
your
repertoire
of
skills.
As
a
coach
or
helping
professional,
you
know
that
you
make
an
important
difference
by
assisting
your
clients
to
get
to
the
heart
of
what
really
matters
to
them.
You
are
being
a
very
significant
witness
as
they
move
towards
greater
harmony
in
their
lives.
You
may
have
an
intuition
that
the
body
has
a
natural
intelligence
that
can
be
tapped
but
don't
know
how.
-
You
may
be
concerned
about
the
information
and
insights
you
are
missing
by
not
including
the
body
in
the
conversation.
-
You
may
be
afraid
that
clients
will
think
that
you
are
weird
if
you
start
asking
them
about
what’s
happening
in
their
body.
And,
you
may
not
feel
confident
with
what
to
do
with
their
responses.
-
You
may
think
that
this
knowledge
is
only
for
certain
gifted
people
who
are
already
in
touch
with
their
bodies
and
have
a
greater
understanding
than
you
do.
-
You
may
have
heard
phrases
like
“move
your
clients
from
head
to
heart”
or
“get
them
out
of
their
heads”
and
you
don’t
personally
know
how
to
do
that,
even
though
you
agree
that
it’s
a
good
idea.
You
have
not
been
taught
the
skills
and
techniques
to
take
them
there.
-
You
may
be
hesitant
to
even
consider
investing
time
and
energy
in
another
body
of
knowledge.

Include
the
Body
in
the
Conversation
Accessing
the
body’s
wisdom
is
a
learnable
skill.
What
is
required
is
for
you
and
your
client
to
have
the
intention
to
begin
within
–
to
slow
down
and
mindfully
notice
what
is
already
there.
The
body
is
always
responding
to
thoughts
and
feelings.
When
both
you
and
your
client
get
curious
about
the
body
responses,
magic
happens.
The
sheer
joy
of
personal
discovery
and
understanding,
of
coming
home
to
oneself,
is
a
profound
gift
to
offer
your
clients.
As
a
practitioner,
your
coaching
becomes
easier
and
more
fun.
| “I
was
searching
for
a
way
to
add
more
depth
to
my
coaching,
these
techniques
have
allowed
my
clients
to
take
deeper
dives
than
I
had
imagined.
I
have
been
working
with
a
client
group
for
over
3
years;
I
used
one
of
the
techniques
and
watched
two
of
the
team
members
connect
at
a
level
even
they
were
surprised
by.” |

Here
are
some
of
the
many
ways
that
clients
are
empowered
when
you,
as
their
guide,
help
them
to
access
the
body’s
insight.
a)
Decision-Making
and
Goals
Many
clients
are
faced
with
decision-making
as
they
move
through
change.
Body-centered
coaching
skills
use
the
body
as
a
resource
in
two
ways
-
embodying
perspectives
and
experimenting
with
possibilities.
By
accessing
the
body's
wisdom,
clients
can
experience
the
reassurance
of
having
made
grounded
decisions
for
themselves.
If
you
want
to
help
your
clients
be
more
committed
to
their
goals
and
decisions,
you’ll
have
more
success
by
including
body
rather
than
only
listening
to
what
they
have
verbalized.
That’s
because
if
the
mind
sets
a
goal
that
is
out
of
alignment
with
the
body
and
the
spirit,
the
results
will
be
less
than
optimal.
| “Working
with
Marlena
and
a
team
of
coaches
and
watching
the
process
unfold
through
the
live
demonstrations
is
an
exceptional
“real
life”
learning
experience.
As
a
coach,
I
was
able
to
learn
about
the
principles,
see
them
in
practice,
take
them
back
to
my
clients
and
then
watch
as
they
began
to
access
their
own
bodies
as
a
new,
deeper
source
of
information.
My
clients
have
been
surprised
by
this
new
information
they
have
and
have
moved
forward
into
their
own
greatness
as
a
result.“ |

b)
Limiting
Beliefs
and
Fusions
What
I’ve
seen
is,
when
clients
have
limiting
thoughts,
there
is
a
corresponding
tension
in
the
body.
The
tension
patterns
hold
valuable
information
for
the
client.
As
clients
move
beyond
the
limiting
belief
and
choose
and
embody
a
more
empowering
belief,
tension
in
the
body
is
relieved
and
the
mind
is
clearer.
They
then
move
forward
to
make
better
decisions
and
reach
their
goals.
After
all,
beliefs
create
our
behavior
which
then
create
our
results.
Clients
also
have
collapsed
distinctions
or
fusions
that
may
act
as
limiting
beliefs.
An
example
would
be
“If
I
get
too
successful,
people
won’t
like
me
any
more.”
Amazing
as
it
may
sound,
by
using
a
few
special
hand
movements,
clients
can
free
themselves
from
the
limiting
impact
of
those
thoughts.
| “Marlena’s
Body-Centered
Coaching
demonstrations
are
a
very
powerful
way
to
experience
where
our
emotions
live
in
your
bodies
and
how
we
can
consciously
chose
to
change
negative
emotions
and
instead
anchor
more
positive
and
beneficial
ones
for
ourselves.
I
was
amazed
at
how
quickly
my
energy
shifted
from
feeling
anxious
and
powerless
to
powerful
and
peaceful.” |

Insights
and
Inner
Peace
Body-centered
coaching
skills
invite
the
client
to
become
more
aware
of
their
body
and
then
share
with
you
the
thoughts,
feelings
and
sensations
that
arise.
You
bring
forward
more
information
that
deepens
both
of
your
understandings
of
what
is
truly
happening.
Using
a
skill
called
remembering
the
resource,
clients
connect
to
their
internal
resources
and
a
sense
of
deep
personal
acceptance.
People
have
a
way
of
knowing
that
comes
from
their
head.
And
what
I
know
is
that
when
clients
realize
that
a
gut
reaction
is
yet
another
way
of
knowing,
that
happens
to
be
a
body
experience,
they
become
more
curious
about
what
else
they
can
tap
into,
and
trust.
These
are
the
skills
of
embodying
key
words
and
embracing
the
signal.
| “It’s
difficult
to
truly
describe
the
impact
of
mindful
coaching
with
Marlena.
Her
ability
to
listen
beyond
the
words,
her
skill
to
tune
into
the
blocks,
her
insightful
and
light-hearted
approach
to
coaching
is
to
be
experienced
rather
than
talked
about.
Mindful
coaching
has
been
around
for
many
centuries;
trust
yourself
to
take
your
next
step
supported
by
a
mindful
master
called
Marlena.” |

d)
Health
and
Well-being
There
is
a
connection
between
mindfully
noticing
body
signals
and
an
inner
peace
that
leads
to
less
stress
and
a
greater
confidence
and
better
health
and
well-being.
When
coaches
and
helping
professionals
mindfully
include
the
body’s
wisdom
in
the
conversation,
a
calmness
and
present
sense
of
self
occurs
for
both
the
client
and
the
practitioner.
The
practice
of
body-centered
coaching
recognizes
that
body,
mind
and
spirit
are
different
aspects
of
our
whole
being.
For
clients
to
feel
peaceful,
these
aspects
need
to
be
inter-connected.
By
integrating
the
whole,
clients
make
better
decisions
and
experience
greater
fulfillment
in
relation
to
their
endeavors.
There’s
a
better
quality
of
life
that
clients
will
experience
when
they
learn
to
become
more
mindful
and
self-aware.
| “Our
body
is
an
incredible
source
of
information
and
wisdom
-
and
most
of
us
only
tap
the
surface.
This
program
teaches
you
a
new
language
and
new
skills.
Time
after
time
I
was
blown
away
by
the
powerful
impact
as
Marlena
demonstrated
the
skills.
Surprising
new
information
became
available
when
the
body
was
included
in
the
conversation.
The
possibilities
are
staggering.
And
in
my
deepest
heart,
I
know
this
will
take
me
to
startling
and
unexpected
new
places.” |
